Has Kyle Busch Finally Met His Match?
Tuesday, July 1, 2008
By Allen Madding Insider Racing News
Kyle Busch has been on a metal crumpling, competitor spinning tear
as of late and so far NASCAR has left his tantrum fest unchecked.
Busch took out Johnny Benson in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway in April to capture a 2nd place
finish while NASCAR set silent. He tied up with Steven Wallace in
the NASCAR Nationwide Series Lipton Tea 250 at Richmond requiring
team members to intervene. At Michigan, Busch spun Ron Hornaday on
the final lap for fourth position in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series Cool City Customs 200,
and again, NASCAR watched silently calculating the net effect of drama for television
audience draw
perhaps. To date, NASCAR has done little to curb Busch’s temper or
to deter him from his over aggressive driving methods.
It has appeared to many that Busch can intentionally crash any
competitor without any corrective action from the sanctioning body.
Many in the garage have said that it would require retribution from
other drivers in all three of NASCAR’s top series to effectively
give the youngster an attitude adjustment.
