Oy, vey, what a bizarre starting lineup! Nemechek, Schrader & Dinger all
starting in the top 5? Top starting Dodge Kyle Petty? Top 10 is 5 Otas, 4
Chevies, 1 Ford....and Kahne and Harvick in only on owners' points, starting
in the bottom five?

if any of us had called that, someone would have said "that's sticking your
neck way out....."


OK: predictions. Neck sticking out.

1) at least 2, no more than 4 Dodges finish top 10
2) top Toyota will NOT be Smoke or Rowdy
3) despite the pole, Nemechek will finish outside the top 10, but will
finish (be running at the end)
4) Front Row Joe will finish better than Dinger
5) The big one will include *two to four* of the following drivers (whatever
the biggest wreck of the race is):
Edwards
Riggs
Menard
Montoya
Vickers
Reutimann
Burton
McMurray

winner: I wanna say Schrader. More to the point, I'd love to see it *be*
Schrader.

But I'm going to pick Jeff Gordon.

Oh come on now. What's weird isn't 3 go-or-go-homers in the T5, what's
weird is that the T8 isn't all go-or-go-homers.

At Dega, with the CoT where you can't play with the body much, in
qualifying where there's no draft, it comes down purely to motor.
And the g-o-g-h cars, with their zero-weight oils and no altenator
and all the other tricks can easily gain 10 hp over the other
cars. The surprise to me is that they all didn't run 187mph laps
like Nemechek.

The finishing list I'm looking at doesn't list manufacturer, but I think I'm
seeing two Dodges in the top 10: Montoya and Newman. +1

Since he's listed as finishing 21st, I'm guessing that counts as "running at
the end" even though he was in the last big one.... +1

I haven't seen a comprehensive list of who was involved, but only McMurray
has been listed in what I've seen of this list.

The "Lap-By-Lap" on NASCAR,com lists:

• Jimmie Johnson
• Regan Smith
• Kasey Kahne

as some of the 14 involved. Also, lists Jamie as starting it, but I
was watching and he got clipped.
