Little Stevie

How the heck can Steve Wallace wreck on the warm up lap for tonights
qualifying?

His inexperience and the pressure of being at the home track caught up
with him. Since he had a sure spot in the race, I bet Rusty had a
"talk" with his young son afterwards. Kinda embarrassing and just not
good or the whole team.

Rusty's best move ever was hiring David Stremme.

Rusty should fire Steve and take on Chrissy.

Right now, that would just result in Steve Wallace take two.
Steve's biggest problem is he got rushed into Nationwide before
he was close to ready. Bring Chrissy up to the "big leagues"
now and you'd probably get the same result. Let her run ARCA
for a couple of years, with the occasional CTS race so she gets
a taste of the TV media, before putting her under the pressure
of running Nationwide.

Agreed.

That said, I predict that Chrissy will be a better driver than Steve in the
long run.....

I think so, too - wasn't she in a truck race a few weeks ago, and did
pretty well?

Depends on your definition of "pretty well". She wasn't remotely
competitive. OTOH, she didn't do anything stupid, kept out of
the way of faster trucks, passed the slower ones, and didn't
break anything. To my mind, for a driver of her experience
level in their first start in the series, that was pretty well.

Yep, she wasn't there to win, she was there to get seat time....

Yeah, she did "pretty well" according to your details ;-) I remember
David Ragan last year (was it?) or the year before? He was like a
ball in a pinball machine, every race.

You may be right, although Steve (this year) is head and shoulders above
Steve (last year). He seems to have settled down a tad. I don't know
whether he is maturing or he spent some quality time with Rusty in the
woodshed.
