RPG Dover I TomS

Well, we had a bit of a gully washer here and they had the same in
Dover. But, they were able to get the N'wide race in so the track
shouldn't be too green unless they have more rain tonight.

Winner - It would be sort of nice to see Jeremy Mayfield (subbing in
the #40) take the checkers. Sort of a "I told you I could drive".
But, I don't think it will happen. The winner will be Ryan Newman.

1. Bobby Labonte starts 19th, but will get a top 10 for the king.

2. JPM seems to be in a bit of a sophomore slump, but he will come
out of it for the race and score a top 15.

3. Mikey and his boys just don't seem to have it this weekend. All
three MWR cars finish 31st or worse.

4. What have I missed?? Matt Crafton driving the #7 for Robby
Gordon? Doesn't make much difference. He will finish 35th or worse.

5. AJ Allmendinger will be the highest finishing rookie.

Segment total going in - +13

El Robbo is off bouncing around the Mexican desert in a truck. So
Crafton qualified the car. Gordon is susposed to be back by race
time.

I was going to do this tomorrow, but the results won't be any
different then. What can you say about a race that has it's "bit one"
on lap 18?? And it involved half of the top 12!! That has got to
sting.

I do plan - sometime this week - to post a mid season look at how my
preseason chase picks are looking.

+0 Nope. Ryan couldn't do any better than 14th today. He wasn't that
bad, but not nearly as good as the leaders.

+0 He got caught up in the big one. Relatively minor damage but it
put him two laps down and he continued to drift back until he was 9
laps down and in 32nd place at the end.

+1 Yeah!! A point with a 12th place finish!!

+0 They finished 27th 28th and 30th.

+0 Robbie kept his nose fairly clean, didn't get caught in the big
one and finished 19th.

+0 Not by a long shot. In fact, he was the last rookie.

Segment total going in - +13
Race total - +1

Final count for first segment - +14 (almost tripling my +5 from last
year)
