RPG - Pocono - McCoy

The Win: Kahne & Edwards have been fast in practice & quals, but
Pocono is a tricky track and being fastest in practice doesn't
always mean anything. So I'll go with Kenseth to win.

Best Chevy: Truex had a pretty good showing last week, and the
DEI cars seem passably strong this week, so I'll go with Truex
to be the top finishing Chevy.

Best Dodge: Being on pole ought to count for something. I'll
pick Kahne to be best Dodge at the end.

Best Toyota: Rowdy rinkled his ride, and Hamlin's always had
a handle on this track, so I'll go with Denny as best Toyota.

Best Rookie: this is not a good track for rookies, altho it's
a lot easier since NASCAR banned shifting (which actually might
have favored the open-wheel guys, if it was still allowed). I'll
pick Carpentier to get his first(*) top-rookie finish, but I don't
figure on any of them to be top-25 (**).

Points story: Waltrip out, Riggs back in. Altho with only 45
cars showing up for most races, and the #45, #34, and #96 seeming
to be invariably feeble, it doesn't make much difference.

(* I think it'd be his first, but I'm too lazy to go look it up
on Jayski).

(** unscored parenthetical comment, not part of the RPG).

Well, so being fast in practice did mean something :-) Not a bad
run for Kenseth, but not the win.

Ran well early, but had a bad pitstop & never could come back up
thru the pack.

Best of all, indeed. +1

MVM points! Finished 3d, but second best Toyota to Vickers.
Nice run for Vickers (and Allmendinger), it looks like the RedBull
folk have things figured out.

McDowell! Carpentier ran well until Hornish spun him (and added
insult to injury by roosting him).

Almost a gimme, really. But I'll take the point. Allmendinger
and Hornish are running well enough that they'll be trading
35th for a while, so we'll be seeing Mikey sweat qualifying for
a while... +1

Wooda been his second, had he did it.

Shoulda made that the RPG, not the name. Best rookie was 27th.

Race: +2
Segment: +2
