There's a *whole* lot more fuel burned gettin' teams/offishuls/fans TO the tracks
than is ever burned during the race.

Shorter races would only have PR value, and not much of that.

That's true, but that would happen anyway and not have anything to do with
saving gas. Cutting back race and practice laps would be the real solution.
