RPG - Firecracker - McCoy

Man, I hate picking the plate races, because you have no hint who
might be lucky and who not.

The Win: I figure it'll be a Chevy. Let's go with Gordon, he
drafts pretty good and he's due for a win.

Top Ford: wouldn't surprise me if it was a Yates car. I'll pick
Travis Kvapil for top Ford finisher.

Top Dodge: well, they were all slow as molasses afore the 500,
and ended up winning it. They're still slow as molasses (except
Carpentier). I'll take Kurt Busch for best of them.

Top Toyota: I'd like this to be Blaney, who runs passably well
at the plate tracks (when he makes the race), and he has a fast
car based on qualifying. But I think the top Toyota will be
Stewart.

Top Rookie: Regan Smith. DEI cars still seem to be fast at
Daytona.

Big Wreck: I'm hoping there isn't one. But if there is, I
predict it will be somewhere between the 200 and 300 mile mark.

John

(who doesn't expect to see but a little bit of the race)

Even though he is in a backup car with no practice laps on it???

I didn't see the end of the race, but I gather he was right there
until the end. But still due...

Ran real well in the middle of the race (which I saw bits of),
but I guess got caught in the last accident? Anyway, not the
top Ford.

Ahem - a note to Tom...at a plate race, any slow car is as likely
to end up at the front as any other slow car :-) +1

Didn't forsee Stewart becoming ill. Looked like Blaney was doing
passably well, till the late accident, but yet again Busch is the
best in a Toyota.

Second best rookie. Nice job by Carpentier staying out of trouble
in a car that probably needed some major adjustments on the early
pitstops.

I guess it was right at the end, altho unless a lot of guys spun
without getting mentioned in the press reports, it wasn't really
a big one.

race +1
segment +3
