Other major news...
As long as we're talking silly season stuff, the second part of
the Tony Stewart deal is rumored to be Newman moving to the second
Stewart-Haas car, with Jack Daniels as sponsor.
That, obviously leaves the 12 open.
Several drivers rumored for it: Mears, who lacks a seat; Stremme,
who's run well in Nationwide and is under contract to Penske, and
Michael McDowell, of all people.
My guess would be Stremme.

Childress now has Shell/Pennzoil, General Mills, Caterpillar, and
UPS as sponsors. How they get divvied out between the teams is
apparently still up in the air.
The rumor is that Jack Daniels will leave RCR, altho that has also
(as one would expect) been denied.

Hasn't happened. But they are rumored to be unhappy.
Mikey has lost UPS, and Aaron's has let it be known that they're
not up for a full-season sponsorship in Cup. Thus the expectation
that Mike (Waltrip) will loose Mike (McDowell) and Reutimann.
