Best time to Visit

Planning a two week trip in April -- can anyone tell me what the
weather will be like?

it really depends on where you are going. It could be damn hot in the
Northeast of Queensland to getting cool down in Tasmania.

Still a bit too hot for comfort in the NT (Darwin to Alice Springs).
Approaching perfect in Qld and NSW; OK but unpredictable in Victoria; Good
in South and West Australia (hot North of Geraldton).

As always with broad weather generalisations covering an area as big as the
continental USA - the above could prove totally incorrect for all or some
areas!!!

The best information available here (click the 'climate' button):

Temperature map for April 2007:-
http :// www .bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/silo/temp_maps.cgi?variable=maxave&area=nat&period=month&time=history&steps=8

Rainfall map for April 2007:-

Australia is about the same size as continental USA so you need to narrow
down the area.
