POSTING GUIDELINES
This newsgroup IS for discussion on accommodation, trains, planes,
interesting routes, sights to see and festivals or events in Australia
and New Zealand. It should NOT include discussion on how Australia is
governed, or what the economic growth of Australia is, or other
statistical, social or political discussion (this type of discussion
is more appropriate for the existing group soc.culture.australian, or
soc.culture.new-zealand). For discussion on travelling in Asia use:
rec.travel.asia.

ALL advertising is inappropriate and should be directed to the group
rec.travel.marketplace.

TIPS:
If you are planning a holiday and want advice, it helps to:
-include "OZ, NZ, or OZ+NZ" in your header to define the country
you're discussing
-give an indication of your daily budget (preferably in OZ/NZ dollars,
otherwise state the currency e.g. USD)
-state how long you want to come for
-state what you are interested in (e.g. beaches, bushwalking, cycling,
art, cities, historic buildings etc)
-state when you are coming (which dates or months)
-state what kind of accommodation you'd like e.g. guesthouses or B&B's
(where you can meet the people), or hotels/motels/resorts.

TRAVEL MAILING LISTS
If you want your travel news sent to you by email there are various
mailing lists dedicated to travel. Some of the major ones are:
TRAVEL-L jschaefer@grog.ric.edu
INFOTEC TRAVEL mendicott@igc.org
TRINET-L psheldon@uhmtravel.tim.hawaii.edu
TOURISM TLandfried@esusda.gov
They cover different aspects of travel, and are subscribed to in
differing ways, so send mail to the addresses shown, and you'll
probably be sent instructions on how to subscribe.

AUSTRALIAN INTERNET CAFES
Yes there are many in Australia, mainly in capital cities.
For a full address see the local phone book when you get there or try
the following resources:
For an up-to-date list search on Yahoo or the other major Net search
engines or try: * w w w .oztourism . com .au/ozcafe.htm
or the newsgroup alt.cybercafes
