OT: Is this credit card scam still happening over there?

Saw it first on an ex-soldiers blog....

* misoldierthoughts.blogspot . com /search?updated-max=2007-10-23T20%

and followed it up. Seems to have been (still is?), quite prevelant.

Pretty damned blatant. I wonder if they experimented with different
amounts and settled on $10 as an amount people won't notice on
their credit card statement. I've purchased from a couple/three of the
websites mentioned, luckily I'm not one for clicking on $10 free type
stuff.

Yeah, that's why I was wondering. I've used several of them as well. Had
to go back and look at the 3 different accounts we used for stuff and
check for any 'wli*shopperdiscount' entries.

I think there's 2 differnt amounts. One lot is $9 and the other $10.

The $9 entry you don't even have to click on anything.

I just can't believe that those places listed on-sell the credit card
details!!!

(The list is about 3/4 of the way down the page above)

Luckily, I've swapped to PayPal for all my o/s transaction, and indeed
almost *all* of my online transactions.
