Kenwwod Chef 310 - Problem Mixing

Hi all

I'm new to the world of Kenwod Chef. I just started using one but it
appears that when I make a sponge, the sugar and butter don't mix well
for a 4 oz cake - I end up with a grainy texture. After hearing all
the rave reviews about Chef I was quite dissappointed. Perhaps it's my
error but it appears that the attachment doesn't seem to reach the
bowl properly and instead of mixing, it compacts it down so I am
endlesly haaving to stop it and scrape the mix about.

If anybody has any advice, it would be most appreciated.

What kind of sugar are you using?
Are you using the paddle or the whisk?
When you say a '4 oz cake' do you mean that the cake, when finished,
weighs 4 ounces?

Hi

The cake was a 4oz mix (4 flour, 4 butter, 2 egg etc) and then I
thought I had used the wrong attachement so tried whisk and paddle!!

As for sugar, can't really recall.
