Coffee pot that doesn't spill?
Has anyone found a good coffee-maker where the pot doesn't spill when you
pour? I have had back luck with Krups, Braun, and Cuisinart...no matter
whether you pour slow, fast, or odd angles I get drips....any thoughts?

The Krups and Braun models with insulated carafes have broad lips which never
ever drip.

The Krups and Braun models with insulated carafes have broad lips which never
ever drip.

My last Krupps coffee maker(s) have left me several glass coffee pots on
hand, which I use one or another mostly all day long for hot tea. [I pour
hot water into the pot; I haven't drunk coffee at home now for quite a long
time.]
I have never had one double-back on me (like the pyrex measuring cups do -
sure would like a deeper spout on them, but I'll never see the day).
I can vouch there is/has been no spill on the Krupps.
Maybe it could be that your top covering if you leave it on causes the
spilling -- just a guess.

My last Krupps coffee maker(s) have left me several glass coffee pots on
hand, which I use one or another mostly all day long for hot tea. [I pour

I have a Capresso thermal carafe, and it doesn't spill a drop. It does,
however pour fairly slowly because of the thermal seal; I'm used to it at
this point. The Capresso unit (MT-503 iirc) makes a very good cup of coffee.

Previously had the cusinart pot with the grinder -- it leaked from all
over the place and didn't make but 8 cups IIRC. This makes 12 cups; you
can set it to turn off after 2,3 or 4 hours and is easy clean-up. Of
course you do have to find a pitcher or something to pour the water in
altho an unadvertised feature seems to be the inner pot liner can be
used for pouring the water.
We have been quite pleased with it altho I do have to say that after
having it crash to the cement front porch one day when I was
transporting it in a bag and the bottom ripped out, I can no longer set
the clock so it won't magically turn itself on in the mornings. OTOH I
suppose it could have decided to smash into tiny bits and I'll settle
for not being able to set the clock :-)
Hrmm the price is now considerably lower than what I paid for it a year
ago -- I guess it's going to be replaced with something newer! better!
