Can you identify this food mill?

Can you identify this food mill?

I'm trying to buy a food mill for my mom. She's had a tinned one for years.
Obviously a stainless steel one is much easier to care for. She found the
first one on this page: http :// www .creativecookware, com /standard_mills.htm
But due to all sorts of pop ups I can't get to View Cart. I'm not even sure
if I put the item into the cart, though I suspect I put it in numerous
times. They do not take orders over the phone. They do not identify this
mill, presumably to make it hard to comparison shop. But since their site
has problems and they won't take a phone order, I'm left with little choice
but to look elsewhere. A look at the source code has:
item_name=8.0+inch+stainless+steel+foodmill+g&item_number=LE42650

Larger pictures are here:
http :// www .creativecookware,com /images/Food%20mill%20Le426101.jpg
http :// www .creativecookware,com /images/Food%20mill%20Le42610sm.jpg

Note now three different model numbers. Searching on LE42650 I find:
http :// www .cookingtreasures,com /Apple-INOX_20_cms_Food_mill_long_handle_with_3_disks.html

But wait! The picture is different (and so is the "list" price). What my
mom wants is one that sits above the bowl, and doesn't stick down into it.
That's the heavy duty gauge one, not the regular gauge.

Searching on the second doesn't find anything. So just what food mill is it
that my mon likes?

There are no popups on that page or the Shopping Cart page. You
have spyware/adware on your computer.

There are three different food mills featured on that page. I
suspect you want the first one you see in the source.

I'm running IE7 with pop ups only when I hold down Ctrl-Shift. The only
adware is what is in IE7. I can see the page. If I press add to cart, and
hold down Ctrl-Shift it creates another tab with the same page. It's the
View Cart that even with Ctrl-Shift I can't get anything to come up.

What is "that page"? As I wrote above the one she wants is the first one on
the URL that is in my paragraph above. But where can I find that for sale
elsewhere?

I tried it with Seamonkey and IE6. I didn't get any popups.

Check Amazon, com for food mills. You may find that one or another one
she may like.

I am not going to install another browser just to buy a food mill! That is
why I asked here if someone could help me find it at another vendor. A
vendor that knows how to design web sites, or at least takes phone orders.

Do a Google Image search and enter something like "stainless steel
food mill ", you should find what you want, rather quickly.

I've done that. It doesn't seem to appear anyplace else. That is why I
asked here.

A very strange and messed up web site indeed. If I click on add to cart on
the "standard mills" page, I get the higher price in a shopping cart (at
paypal) in a pop-up window. If I click on the "apple" one you list, I get
the lower price in a shopping cart in the original window. I think they have
two stores, an old one that probably is supposed to be gone, and a new one.
Depending how you select an item, you can end up in the old obsolete store.
They really need to do some fixing up here.

The other thing I don't like about it is nowhere can I find a street address
of the business. That always bothers me.

I won't do business with a web site that hides their physical address.
Best place for it is right on their home page. Second best is on the
"Contact Us" or "About Us" pages.

In digging around this site to try to figure out where they are, all I
was able to deduce for sure is that they are Canadian based. Since the
OP appears to be in NY, I don't think he wants to be buying from a
Canadian site - crossing borders, and changing currencies doesn't make
transactions easier. It also makes any disputes with the merchant harder
to resolve.

Food mills are pretty common items - I would think one could find them
from an easy-to-use web site, located in the US, that made it clear
where they were located.

BTW, a "whois" check on the web site gives this address for Creative
Cookware in Montreal:

1201 allard
verdun, QC H4H2C9

FWIW, I've done a lot of business with Canadian websites. My own website
is hosted by a Canadian firm. I have never had any problems with the
Canadian vendors I use, even when I have had to return items.

Take a look at this one. It looks pretty good and seems to have the
attributes you want. The company is reputable and puts out paper
catalogs which you will get forever once you order from them. What more
could you want?

That's the Cuisipro food mill, the one that Cook's Illustrated
recommends as the best. It's pricey, but a good choice. You want your
Mom to have the best, don't you Don? ;-)

I also recommend the vendor, "Cooking Enthusiast". I began buying from
them so long ago they had no web presence - you had to either phone or
mail-in your order. (And they were known as "Professional Cutlery
Direct", a name they seem to be using less and less these days.) Their
web site is still less polished than many - their street address is
listed, but well-buried, for example.

They're located in western CT - UPS ground should get to the OP's
location in one day.

www .cooking, com also carries this piece, if you'd prefer a different
vendor. I've used, and recommend, them, too.

The problem is is sticks halfway into the bowl. She prefer it to not stick
in at all.

I found this one:
