Vacuum Bag Opinions?
Vacuum Bag Opinions?
Looking for opinions/thoughts on the best food grade vacuum bags on
the market. I'm needing something heavy enough to deal with the sharp
points of dehydrated fruits, and preferrably durable enough to be
reused a number of times. The majority of the search hits have related
more to what types of bags are usable in which machine ... We've
designed our own system capable of handling the foil lined bags if we
so choose, thus proprietary concerns are non-existent.
Anyone have experience with the 4 mil bags? Would the boil-in bags
work better in the long run? (even though I have no intension of
boiling anything ... ) My personal preference would be for a
continuous roll but I wouldn't thumb my nose at the pre-cut/perforated
bags if they are durable enough. Any favorites out there? Any brand
specific caveats?

The best thing to do is to search the net for plastic bag
distributors and then ask for samples to try.
You must also consider the feeding of the bag into the sealer and
the sealing the machine can do with the different types of bag
thicknesses.
I would try Global dist., for a variety, also try your shipping and
handling sites. Again I know from industry that a sales person can
send samples.
