Bonanza

Gotta sneak 25 half pint jars past The Sheriff somehow.
Tuesday is discount day at the local secondhand shop and I wound up
paying 30 cents each for them. Most don't have rings but I don't mind a
bit ‹ I've got coupons from Ball for being good at what I do with soft
spreads. I can hardly wait (NOT) to see what Fleet Farm's sale price on
these suckers is going to be this summer. They had a bunch of
widemouth quart jars, too. I don't need those, though.
Now, back to our regular scheduled programming.

Whata-bah-ghan! I saw the first batch hit the grocery store today. Quarts &
Pints were $6.99 a dozen, they didn't have anything smaller in stock yet.

Wow, Keith. $7 for quarts and/or pints is a good price. Regular mouth
at that price? I think they're more here. My need is for 8 ounce and
4-ounce jars. I've got a bead on some 4-ounce jars. Those suckers are
*more* expensive than the half pint jars. Ticks me off.

You just reminded me it is time to cruise the charity and secondhand
shops and see what offerings in the preserving line they might have.

Do you happen to have The Sheriff's email address handy? I could
probably get on his good side by ratting you out. <VBG>

MYOB, Jorge. You're not ON his bad side, y'know.

There was a 6-8 quart Mirro pressure cooker, aluminum - had the rack
but needed the round weighted gauge. It was $7 before Tuesday 25%
discount.

Surely someone has the weighted jiggler? I will look in my "junk" box in
the pantry.

Jeez, Jorge, don't look for it on my account. My Mirro and my Presto
both have their weights. The Mirro is the round little puck-like thing
with holes for 5-10-15#; the Presto is fixed for 15#psi only. And I'm
the only weighted jiggler in the house. ;-)

Only 25 jars? That's hardly two days' worth of product. What about
the rest of the summer? Oh wait, I forgot. Minnesota. You only have
to weeks of summer.

Gee thanks! Now I've got that theme song stuck in my head. The tune
anyway; I don't think it has lyrics.

You know how to do that by now! You keep them in the trunk
or ont he floor of the back seat of the car under a jacket
and sneak them into the house when he's gone.

Cripes, I gotta tell you everything.
