Q: storing nuts - refrigerate?

I understand that it is better to buy nuts in shells, then crack them
open shortly before eating them. (That way they are less likely to get
rancid.)
But what is the best way to store nuts (IN SHELLS) - in room
temperature, a refrigerator, or a freezer?

Thx

Nuts get rancid equally shelled or unshelled.
The best way to store nuts is to freeze them.
Peanut butter freezes well too.

Didja know that nuts were originally salted to act as a preservative,
to delay rancidity... sugar is a natural preservative too, that's why
peanut butter contains sugar.

I know it to be true is all that matters and it's you seeking the
information... I honestly don't give a fiddler's fuck what an
ungrateful douchbag the likes of you believes... ask anyone if I care,
they'll vouch for me.

In the freezer, for me. So many foods keep better there, and defrost without
assistance in a jiffy.
