Denon A/V Receivers

Hi! I'm new to this Forum and wanted any opinions on Denon Receivers
for A/V. I know they have a great reputation, but it may just be hype.
I can get a comprably equipped Yamaha for $200 less than the Denon. Is
it worth it?

Denon all the way, it's worth the price.

Oh, and you have an interesting last name. If anyone here speaks
modern Greek, it means something *very nasty* LOL!!! Guess the mod
slipped up on that one :=)

Hi Kim,

I've owned three Denon receivers over the past few years. I keep
going back to Denon when I compare to the other models (features AND
side by side testing). Currently I have a 2803CI which I really
really like. I personally prefer the sound of the Denon over the
Yamaha somewhat, but don't think you can go wrong with either. The
Denon's are built like tanks, heavy, solid units. Fully discrete
amplifiers for each channel etc...Here (Toronto) the comparible Onkyo
was hard to find, the Integra was way overpriced, the Marantz was a
nice option but a bit more costly, leaving me with the Yamaha vs the
Denon. When I lined up all the specs etc...I opted for the Denon.

Still if all of the features you want are on the Yamaha for $200 less
than the Denon AND the Yamaha sounds as good or better to you then I
so no reason why you should chose to spend more money just for the
heck of it.
