Normally, you would want to have a no reserve auction and start off the
bidding at 25% of the retail price when new. There's a good chance you will
sell them that way without loosing your shirt so to speak. If you want to
guarantee to sell both items with the least amount of auction fee expense,
start each auction at $1 with no reserve and let the market decide their
worth -you will definitely get the most bids that way but may risk receiving
a low winning bid (especially on eBay). Here are my choices for websites to
sell on to get the most value out of your geat...
1) AudiogoN (lots of audiophiles looking for used high-end gear and you will
get the most for your gear here)
2) Craigslist (designed for a local sale in cash as soon as the same
day -watch out for tire-kickers and more importantly, scam artists)
3) eBay (favors hot ticket items, but if you market your auction properly,
you may draw a couple of key buyers to bid against each other for a high
winning bid)
TIPS: take at least two good quality pictures of your auction items showing
as much detail as posible; give as much description of each item as
possible (i.e. the condition, age, original owner?, original box and
packaging?, double-box shipping for safety with insurance if offered, etc.)
Happy selling!
