Need HELP selecting preamp

I have (don't laugh now) an OLD Sansui Turntable model 2050C??, which failed
when I tried connecting it to my Yamaha HTR-5440 receiver. Turns out I need
a pre-amp before connecting to the AUX. Any suggestions? Don't want
anything with a lot of bells and whistles, just the bare necessities...value
is important, here. After all, it is a mid-70's era turntable. LOL !
So what do you say, ladies and gents? Thanks, Tom

I would recommend the NAD PP-2. Its a nice, clean phono stage with no
whistles.. Retails for $129.00
