buzzing sound

I connected my HD monitor/TV to receiver KLH, simple hookup, output from
monitor to receiver. worked fine but after a couple of weeks, I get damn
buzzing sound like it is shorted somewhere.

Not too technical on this end, what can I do to remove the buzzin sound.
Nothing was altered with connections during this time I believe.

tks all

If you unplug the monitor from your receiver does the buzzing sound
continue or it goes away? If it goes away it is probably a ground loop
that come from your TV RF Cable.

Tks Jocelyn for quick and great reply.

I turned on the receiver to the FM band and no buzzing was heard.

I turned on the TV/Monitor without receiver and no buzzing was evident.

Then again, turned on both receiver and TV/monitor the buzzing was on.

Some other things: I use KLH R5100 digital receiver, purchased in 2003.
The receiver doesn't have an audio input from TV jack so I use the VCR input
jack with std cables from the monitor to receiver.

I use Time Warner Cable HD/DVR box.

Should I try another input from TV to receiver? If a phone call o Time
Warner is needed, what should I say?

tks all.

What you need to do is go at your nearest RadioShack and ask for this
part 270-054. It is a Ground Loop Isolator. You will plug this cable
between your monitor and your receiver. Then you will enjoy a Buzz Free
sound:-)
