I'm still looking for a player with an advanced DAC, Bob, or...if I
can't find one reasoably priced an external DAC."<<

The Benchmark and Lavry are about the only ones really worth looking at
IMO.

Well, no "gadget" per se, but I am going to buy a stereo amplifier
sometime this year. And probably a pre as well. I'm thinking about Rotel
RC-1082 paired with a Rotel RB-1070. I don't have my heart set on that
combo, but it's priced about right.

Jennn you're well-known fear of, DbT''s Jnen is what we love to laugh, at
LOt"S. Since you haven't prooved you can idnetitify your-beloved amplifier's
in a properly-level control-matched blind-double test-test, Jen its like you
have a snot-storm where your-brain should-be Jennnn. LOl!

Since it doesn't weigh 40 lbs, it can't sound any good. I am eager to be
villified.

Thanks, Jenn.

You also have the RCD-1072 don't you? I've thought of doing something
similar, but I'm not in any hurry to replace my Denon CD player which
seems perfectly adequate. Possibly one day I'll go to an all Rotel setup
for the electronics.

What speakers are you driving with the Rotel combo? I've got B&W 703s in
my main listening room and I know that it wouldn't hurt me to get them a
higher current amplifier. I'm presently using a Rotel RX-1052, which is
an excellent 2 channel receiver, but I think I'll get some improvement
going to separates.

I'm also keen on the RC-1082 because I've heard that it has a much
better phono section than what I've got at present.

I'm sure that I'm breaking several audiophile rules by having all of my
electronics by the same company, but they sound great to me! ;-)

It's not eclectic. It's like conducting with a riding crop.

Yes, although Middius was dissatisfied with his harp, which weighed
approximately 68 lbs. A mystery.

Harp, harp, harp. You need a tuneup.
