Sound forge Audio Studio

i know the Sound Forge Audio Studio software has a vocal remover
software, but dose anyone know how good this works? because i need to
create backing tracks for school but you can't get many good quality
ones.

It is significantly more sophisticated than a simple centre-image remover,
and capable of xcellent results ( Is is licenced from Izotope ?). How well
it works still largly depends onthe nature of the source
music/reverb/panning/effects.

It's probably as good as any of them... they invert the two channels and
sum them together, usually rolling off the low end of one of them so that
bass in the center isn't cancelled out. It works great on some mixes and
terrible on others... if there is stuff that isn't in the center (like
stereo reverb on the vocals) it won't go away. If there is stuff other
than the vocal in the center (like the lead guitar on Revolution), it will
go away.
