You're kidding right? People still buy 8 track junk. What for, nostalgia?
The whole 8 track strategy is based on the tape slipping inside to keep the
same sized spool. 8 track and hi fidelity are about like military
intelligence.

Oh boy that thing brings back memories. I did a lot of recording with that, and
had a large part of my music on 8 track. That thing was prety good, but
I had to add a wire on the capstan to dissipate the static. That thing was
over $100 in 1969 dollars.
