i'm new here, need some help


I've a rotel RA-1210 solid state stereo amp
it works, but when i opened the cover for some clean-up
I gound this...what's that??can it be fix?? thanks a lot~!!

I'm wondering why the cabinet was opened. I do see "clean up".

Old equipment most always has bad parts, or what I'm saying
is all old equipment needs regular servicing.

Sometimes youeven can see exploded capacitors inside !!
Most of the time problems are not visual.

And this time make sure it's 'X rated' for use across the mains
(seriously) ! It shouldn't happen again in that case.

I think the problem is that they *weren't* X caps. They should be replaced with
X caps though.

You might not have to remove the board. Clip the leads, close to the
body of the caps, and solder the new ones to those leads. Try to make a
secure mechanical connection, so you don't unsolder the leads and have
them fall into the bottom of the chassis when you solder the new
component in!
