root1, a serial spammer and arsole

root 1, Get yourself rooted with a broom handle with nails.

Bleed to death slowly.

Because you have NOTHING to offer us,

WE WILL NEVER BUY CHINESE FUCKING CRAP.

What a gallant Australian you are, facing the might of the
Chinese economic onslaught without so much as a stick or a
stone.

Unfortunately for you, the rest of the world, including your
ruling class, is clamouring to buy their products, use their
production facilities, and pocket the cash they get for all
your raw materials.

I don't blame them. I have a few excellent Chinese products,
including a nifty wall wart meter for just £6 and a laptop
power supply so beautifully engineered I could weep. They
make very reliable rockets, too, but I've never felt the
need for one.

It's almost certain that you have missed your target, who is
obviously not the best person to do business with anyway.
Perhaps if you visited China, and treated people with
respect, you might find your relations more rewarding. Same
everywhere, really.

Iveson, you entirely miss the point.

I have dished out to root1 and player and whatever guise he comes in
that
he and his promotion of chines crap isn't wanted as replies here to my
posts or anyone else's.

ROOT1 SHOULD REALISE THAT SPAMMING OUR DISCUSSION GROUP IS ENTIRELY
COUNTER PRODUCTIVE.

My fucking chines made variac made in china went up in smoke without
blowing a fuse.
Its under repair evaluation at the Jaycar store where I bought it.
I wanted a refund, but they wouldn't give me one.

I have yet to find out what will be the eventual outcome.

The previous variac I had eventuall failed after 20 years of service,
and fatally after a few shorts with failing SS amps amps connected.

I regularly have to re-wire chinese amps which are copies of
inferior western nation crap designed originally in the 1950.

Many chinese treat western nation people with utter disrespect and
contempt by providing them with crap.
A lot of their produce is cheap, and its nasty. I don't buy much of it.
When I do out of necessity, it often brings regret.

Root1 is entirely out of order to come here and repeat a fuctatious
message about
chinese industry as part of tube craft discussions.
He shows us zero respect, and must be treated like shit.

I hope he posts a detailed long apology soon.

The asians work for a pittance, and are hell bent on saving enough from
sales
to westeners to buy western nation companies and get economic and
political control.
Its going to be an ongoing concern of US ppl as the US economy unravels.

With luck the Chinese fucking Communist Party will fall apart and be
replaced with something better.
And while I'm at it, maybe then Tibet will get a fair go, along with
other harmless groups such as Falung gong.

Some chinese think their shit don't stink, but unlike you, I will hold
it to their nose
so they understand.

The Chinese should know that root1 is a very unwanted pest and
crapologist here at r.a.t

I hope they understand our displeasure.

I have zero intention of visiting China, ever.

Its sounds more like a fucked up place the more I here and see of it.
Too many people, pollution, and arrogance, greed, corruption, and
terrible human rights record.
I get regularly spammed by chinese makers of electronic products
including gear used in tube amps.
I have replied to some to see exactly what they are selling.
I have so far not seen a single thing I want to buy as a result of their
spamming
because of very poor quality compared to european nation manufactured
goods.
I have explained to them that i would be interetsed if they did gold
plate the switch contacts and make
better screw threads and RCA sockets, and use better metalurgy, but its
like talking
to a duck. I've told them I would pay far more if they lifted quality.
They don't listen.

Sure there are some nice Chinese people.

I know a lot who live here, and more than 1/2 the membership of one
large audio club
has chinese origin men as members, and all are gentlemen.
I get on fine with my chinese customers.

I simply have no tolerance for the makers of the crap I have to deal
with.

Re: root1, a serial spammer and arsole

Perhaps you were just too subtle for me.

Perhaps you think "root 1" is somebody who reads our posts.

What really drove you to your xenophobic tizzy was your
assumption that "root 1" is Chinese. You just found a hook
to hang your hate on. The words you screamed had nothing at
all to do with spam.

It would be nice if this were a group where anyone in the
world could come to chat about the joys of valve audio. I
would particularly welcome Chinese and Indians; there's
billions of them; we could have a party. Nobody should have
to face a tirade of racialist abuse.

I don't mind if you don't wish to buy Chinese products, but
there's no reason why that should be an issue for the group.
The sordid details of your private life hold no fascination.
They're just sad.

Kindly don't pretend that you are speaking for us all.

Not knowing to whom the reply was aimed I'll make a stab. And
judging from your poor abilities above only I will ASSume that you do
not visit too many different places on the Usenet. I do. And your damned
right I would have hooked on to the poster appearing to be Chines and it
has everything to do with spam. Because if you are as familiar with
Usenet as I am you will know that much of the spam in these groups (and
in fact spam in general) is posted by Chinese who have no regard for the
rules and netiquette associated with these groups. You would also know
that ISPs and hosts in China as well have little regard for the rules
and care less about stopping spam than many other countries. All that
aside, SOME of us are a little disgruntled with the loss of jobs to
China not to mention what almost seems like a purposeful attempt to
cause harm with dangerous goods being shipped here.

Now you have to routs here you can take in a reply. You can get nasty
and spout off with accusations of racism and personal attacks, or you
can address the issue and attack my position, but in so doing it is
necessary to point out what for and why in order to get a good reply.

Who screamed? The flow is plain to anyone sensibly equipped.

I shan't repeat what Patrick wrote.

I don't get nasty. Patrick got nasty

You just got stupid.

Nearly all my spam comes from the US and Africa.

End of story. I'm not interested in your reply. Goodbye.

NOT end of story, not until its over.

Windsor makes a point you don't like too much.

Perhaps he knows better than you do to make the right complaint in the
right place to get some action.

I don't know everything, but I know shit netiquette when I see it.

Spam concerns me as much as it does you, so I reported it.

Spam won't be reduced by screaming here. You just make it
worse.

I'm sure Chinese people are just as much upset by it as
everyone else. No need to pick on them.

The worst disruption in my experience has been the "MI5"
posts. Nobody used it as an excuse for a cheap attack on
Britain.

Treat Chinese people with respect; it's a mutual thing.

Ian

I treat everyone with great respect,
If they earn it.

My respect and being nice is conditional.

It is a bot, no point in shouting at it, it can't hear you.

Living in Australia, you are probably buying Chinese crap every day anyway.

Some of their power tools aren't too bad, dirt cheap too.

May the bot bleed to death slowly.

I think someone is running the campaign to spam r.a.t

And they'd be wondering if there's a reaction.

Weel, dunno about you, but the bot and person behind the bot need and
deserve a good ol serve, eh what?

Now for some reason I don't much understand, although I am grateful for,
spam appearance at r.a.t and most other news groups
is *extremely* low, and botting us probably is easily detected in
automatic blockers.
The reason 'root1' or 'player' gets in is because someone has managed to
subscribe with a valid email address and has aimed at out posts.
Seems like the human touch to me.

But never mind; anything goes on the Internet...

Patrick Turner.

Re: root1, a serial spammer and arsole

The point here is that this is a users group for those interested in
vacuum tube audio, and not a commercial venue open to anyone with
something to sell. Spammers have no legal or moral right to advertise
here. In doing so, they violate those of us who are here to
participate in the group's legitimate purpose. Were I accosted in
person by such an inappropriately aggressive and insistent hustler, I
would likely respond with physical violence. That being the case, I
applaud Patrick's use of verbal violence in flaming those cum-guzzling
gutter sluts. Telling shitheads to go fuck themselves is a
longstanding Usenet tradition, and it is the responsibility of all of
us here to fill the mailboxes of anyone who disrespects us by
attempting to degrade our forum for the sake of their own personal,
selfish gain with such an unrelenting shitstorm of abuse that it
renders said mailbox useless. Other than that, I think we should try
to be polite to each other.

Unfortunately the internet is full of clever but evil people. The latest
trick to get mail accounts automatically is devilishly clever. The mail
service providers started using CAPCHAs (those funny distorted characters
that you have to type in to get an account). As these are served graphically
(as a bunch of pixels) they are hard for a computer to decode but
(relatively) easy for humans. So what these people do is to open a form to
start an account, get the CAPCHA file and put it up on a different web site.
This web site offers it's users free porn but to get in they have to (you
guessed it) decode the CAPCHA. The user on the second web site types in the
contents of the CAPCHA and gets his feed of porn, meanwhile the evil system
takes the data that the user typed in and returns it to the mail provider.
Whammo the bot now has a mail account without it's owner having to do
anything, and, since the world is full of people looking for free porn there
is no shortage of the human link needed.

Very clever very evil. The account may only last a day or so, but they can
generate so many that it doesn't matter.

Keith

I firmly believe CAPCHA has been broken some how. After a number of
years in operation without a single bot registration, my forums began
getting the occasional registration that you can tell was done by a bot.
We have since added a security question and the two together has
stopped all automatic registrations.

The part that gets me is these dirtbags know they are trespassing on
private servers where their ads are inappropriate and unwanted, yet they
go out of their way to force their porn ads onto my forums. This can
only be described as the behavior of a thief.
