Revenge

Do you think it was wise to bash the Chinese? I expected some form of
payback (SPAM) for all the insults, justified or not. There is a wiser,
more civilized way of stating opinions. We must be sensitive to other
cultures, especially in these times.

As far as all the spam on a newsgroup, either a person puts up with it
and ignores it or you get it moderated.
Personally, I just ignore it and I'm proud to say I've never bought
anything from a spammed email or newsgroup.

China should be nuked or removed from the Internet until they put a
stop to their spam. Which ever is easier....

But the actual spammers might be good 'ol boys operating in Texas, maybe
paid by
someone somewhere.

Gonna nuke Texas while your'e at it fella?

Better filters are needed.

Well done. Thanks, Patrick.

There's no point in characterising it as Chinese, even if
some or all of it is. Whoever we complain to, they'll need
to know exactly why we have decided it's spam, and won't be
impressed if we just tell them it appears to be selling
Chinese stuff.

So, why *do* we consider it to be spam? There appears to be
several sources, linked to several sites. Each message is
posted just once, to one newsgroup.

If it's not spam, why are we upset? It troubles me because
it is characterised by a failure to include keywords, such
as "FS", "for sale", etc., in subject headings so I can
filter it out. AFAIK this is just a breach of netiquette.
Most of it is not on topic, but we can hardly claim that
off-topic posts are a new phenomenon. No more off-topic than
bicycles, life-stories, or China.

I mailed my ISP but I don't see why they should be bothered,
because if I migrate to an alternative provider I won't
solve my problem.

Here is a page that looks useful

* spam.abuse . net /userhelp/howtocomplain.shtml

The sites that the annoying posts link to may or may not be
aware that the culprits are posting here. However,
complaining to them if they *are* part of the plot may give
the impression that they are succeeding, and make the
problem worse.

Maybe email their ISPs. Maybe the ISPs of the posters, maybe
both.

Perhaps many of whoever we are could agree on a message
saying **why** we're upset, and agree **where** to send it?

LOL!
If you really want to bother trying to get a Google account termed you
have to use the web form.

Could be, but if the doucheweasel Chinese ISPs would stop
contributing then it would mostly stop. I have a feeling it's not though.

West, don't be such a moron. I doubt the Chinese miscreant who posts all
this trash on the N.G. checks to see what people have to say about them, or
even cares.

Any "wiser, more civilized way" is not returned in kind. Their SPAMMING is
totally obnoxious in addition to being a violation of the TOS.

When someone walks out of the store without paying for the shoes you helped
them to try on, do you walk outside and ask them in a civilized manner not
to do that?

Of course not, it's a bot. A script. It makes Google accounts and
posts to groups through Google without any human intervention. Just look
at the names.

I will NEVER KISS CHINESE arses, whether I am cordially invited to do
so,
paid to do so, or if commanded to at gun-point.

My eloquent and highly accurate and detailed criticisms of the garbage
they try to sell to us
is a service they should be grateful for so they can understand where to
improve,
and get our full endorsement.

It just happens now that the Fucking Cunts behind the spam now appearing
have managed to infiltrate our news group.
Just who they are is unknown, perhaps not even chinese, although the
products they are pushing
are Chinese. Could be someone anywhere with a vested interest in
improving sales of Wholesale,
so anything goes; there are no morals.
I emailed "Wholesale blah blah", and told them of my concerns, and that
they were sustaining a counter productive result because of the spam
landing here.
There was an automatic response, but no human response at all since.
They couldn't give a shit. I'd be no concern to them if all the Usernet
groups were being hit.

Up until now, the obstruction of spam by whatever means elmployed by
whoever runs Usernet has been pretty darn good, considering the
mountains of
spam being churned out by the Cunts Of This World.

I did post a question here about who to contact concerning the spam.

Nobody replied.

So I would be a voice crying in the wilderness I would say.

So I'll ask the same question,

Who do we email to describe a spam problem?

Patrick Turner.

Most likely the owners of the shops don't know a word
English and have the spam sent for them by some little
mafia who, of-course doesn't reply to your requests.

contact the chamber of commerce, or ministry of business
or some official state bureau. They might inform the
owners in Chinese of the way we think about spam.

Stop hyperventilating, learn to live with it, and shove them in your
killfile. Its a lot better for you than bursting a blood vessle over it.
