Question on selling...

I haven't sold a bike in awhile. I am going to sell my wife's
motorcycle because she doesn't ride it. We are going to get her
something more standard and lighter. Here is the details of the bike
I'm selling:

1998 Yamaha V-Star 650 - Classic
UNDER 10,000 Miles
28 Inch seat height - GREAT for the Inseam Challenged
Plenty of Power for two-up riding
Soft-Tail look
1998 Cruiser of the Year
Air-Cooled - Low Maintenance
New Rear Tire
*** Will Give you A fresh Oil Change before you take possession***

Kelly Blue Book Value - WITHOUT ACCESSORIES: $2795.00

ACCESSORIES ON THIS BIKE:

" Yamaha Tall Windshield
" Yamaha Chrome Windshield Lowers
" Chrome Engine Guard
" Chrome Highway Pegs
" Chrome Luggage Rack
" Passenger Backrest
" Saddlebag Guards
" Frame Dressers (covers weld sections for cleaner look)
" Yamaha Leather Saddlebags
" Chrome Rear Fender trim (Not installed - Black is on
currently)

This Bike is ready for touring - or any other kind of riding you want
to do.

I'm thinking of asking $2900.00

It seems like a fair price - almost the KBB retail - but with all the
accessories.

That will probably work, assuming you find a buyer who wants those
particular accessories. For someone who doesn't want them, your
price is likely going to face some steep competition.

I figured most of these accessories are pretty practical. We bought
the bike used with 3k on the clock a couple of years ago with all the
add-ons already. The only thing I've added for the wife is the
lowers. She is ready to move to something a bit more agile. It was a
great learner because of the low seat height and easy to control power
(plus it was cheap!)

We are looking at getting her a BMW 650CS. She would like the K12RS
but just is not comfortable with its size/weight.

I rode an earlier version (F650) BMW a few years ago and it was a LOT
of fun to ride. Hope things work out so that she is inclined to ride
more often and enjoy it more!
