I guy I know recently bought two of the DT 175's off eBay for close to 1000
dollara apiece. He's spent more than twice what he paid restoring them coz
both of them were utter shite.

He's still in the process of getting the 2nd one to a rideable state, but
the first one has just cost him another 500 dollars when he discovered the
crankcase oil seals were fucked. Of course, this was AFTER a "knowledgable
person" did all the necessary engine work. After the "work", the carb was
bollocksed up (the needle tip had be cut off), the alternator/dynamo didn't
generate electrickery, it oiled plugs for fun, produced zero power, but that
as fortunate because the tyres were totally useless (new).
