All the REAL CHinese get is the rice, and not much of it.

Westernized Chinese food, of the sort typically found in
American "Chinese" restaurants, resembles the real thing
about as much as Taco Bell represents authentic Mexican
cuisine. You CAN find some authentic Chinese food,
usually in family-run places in the "Chinatown" sections of
major cities, but they're the exception, not the rule.

I think it is obvious that Westernized Chinese food is not the same as
Chinese food. :)

Of course the Chinese have other problems to worry about, like pollution:

....and yet the US is the worlds largest polluter with a smaller
population than the Chinese. I'm sure China will catch up eventually and
then you can point the finger........

Yep, and we are damned proud of it! Everyone should live the way we do, the
world's largest consumer with the world's largest per capita prison
population. Go USA!!! Land of the free! Home of the brave!

Don't foget India, or Australia.... And I am not sure of NZ's fishing
industry (I'll include Japan and Norway), what we call "Orange Roughy" is
not exactly sustainable, but damn it is a tasty fish!

Funny how my wife (who spent most of her previous life in eastern Montana)
found that out about both Chinese and Japanese food when we moved to the
FAR west pacific in '98... :)

So, did Jesus eat Chinese food? He must have been introduced to it by his
good buddy, Buddah, right?

You'd likely lose your bet. Recall that Jesus' day job was that of a
carpenter, and that was hard outdoor work with no wimpy power tools is those
days. Recall also that this is the same guy who single-handedly drove the
money-changers from the temple, and that nobody tried to stop him.

The scrawny crucified Jesus we're all used to seeing is a creation of the
Middle-Ages Catholic Church, who wanted his portrayal to wring as much
sympathy from the masses as possible.

By the same token though, I think the original Buddha
had been raised as an Indian warrior aristocrat.

What if you brought in Muhammed and Moses and
made it some kind of tag team matchup ?

I've always thought there was something odd about that: The symbol of
eternal life is a dead man on a peice of dead wood, or worshipping a
scene of torture to death. Kinky in the extreme.

Apparently it was either a one-day page, and is no longer there, or I
somehow screwed up the address.
