Reed = he-man?

The Detroit practice crash looked pretty bad - I'd be in rehab for
a year.

He looked to be in pain during the race after but if his shoulder
is broken:

and he rides again this week, that's pretty he-man. I need
to stop calling him a cry baby. Shoulda after Daytona last year
where he rode hurt.

Go fast. Take chances.

I've always felt like Reed was getting a bad rap as a whiner. I
believe he just has a vocal tone that sounds like that, but overall, I
think his biggest downfall is in answering questions honestly (from
his perspective) and not playing the humble card enough. He has a
pretty impressive record of riding through pain that would stun
ordinary people. My kids consistently come back saying that he's one
of the friendliest riders they talk to across an autograph table, too
(next to RC, who morphed into the consumate professional over the
years).
Chad's a tough SOB, he's just misunderstood.
The last 3 races should be very interesting. I'm looking forward to
the Seattle race, now we'll have intense class championship drama in
BOTH classes. Kewl.

I agree. There's a statement in the recent RacerX interview that
really makes it hard for me to like the guy.

Reed's crash looks like it could have just as easily been carear
ending. I looks like his bike just barely missed him. OF

Eh, Bubba does that same nose into a whoop endo crash at least twice a
season.

Yep.

I always remember the podiums where he's third (behind RC and
Bubba) and looks like he's about to cry. Just a weird facial
expression
he probably doesn't even realize.

That's pretty funny, though true.

Re: Reed = he-man?

Chad is 'the man'. Damned few riders would have ridden with that
injury. I would have croaked from the anticipation before I hit the
ground. He must REALLY want that title. Does MX really need do or
die doubles/triples ? Same question for local level stuff. Would you
quit going to a track that didn't have doubles ? How many injuries
have you had 'cause of a double that went bad ?

Go fast. Go home at the end of the day !

Oh, the old riding with a hurt shoulder trick.

Frankly, I don't care for the man. My first exposure to him personally, just
as a coincidence, was when he had just blown his shoulder out (dislocated)
in the old woods section at Southwick. I happened to be right there and was
getting photos of the whole medical rescue proceedure. At some point he
informed me that I had plenty o' pixels. That made me not like him so much.

He evidently had his favorite person pop his shoulder back together
backstage and he rode quite well in the main moto. That made me think he's
one tough mofo, whether I like him or not.

Yes, his ego is large. But let's face it. You need to puff yourself up a
little to hit a triple with a winning attitude. It's not a sport for the
meek. LOL

-Dean
amazed at the little bit of "big" jumps I've done. It's pretty silly. LOL
<banging desk funny> I love that shit. Too bad I seem to be so fragile.
