Out of shape

Now that I have a running bike again I need to get back into shape. I
havn't ridden for about two years seriously, that means about one
hundred miles a week, so the muscles are a bit raged after my last
jont which was a rather easy ride. I ride a mountain bike daily which
must be good for me and also because fuel prices are somewhere in
outer space. I was wondering if there is anything else I can do
besides loosing fifty pounds that might help. OF

I'm only 41 but running some twenty-somethings into the ground on a
few little loops Saturday made me feel great!

I thought I was pretty soft after the winter, but not so bad. You're
probably in better shape than you think, but stiff from tensing up
because you weren't used to the position.

Was my 1st ride of the season, so I felt it quite a bit afterwards,
too.

Kept watching this one young fellar standing up all the time, and I
said to myself "I'm going to outlast him...".

Squats and push-ups are a great moto workout for me. Build strength
where you need it the most and lose some weight along the way. The
bicycle should cover the cardio.

Off-road mountain biking in rolling terrain does wonderful things to build
up leg and knee strength. I think it has to do with the interval process.

Riding uses muscles that you just don't seem to be able to exercise
otherwise. Those first couple of rides take their toll.
