Cant post report

I have tried several times to post my trip report from yesterday, it
won't post. I can post other messages, and to other google groups from
my google account, but not my report, I don't get it, maybe there is
some word or combination of words that is stopping it, I don't know,
looks innocent enough to me. Oh well, maybe tomorrow...

Re: Cant post report

Sorry for the posts folks, I removed one paragraph, it had the word BS
spelled out, maybe that was kicking it out, I don't know so here is
another try.

Followup.. Big bummer. So, I spent all night till after midnight
repairing my trailer to make the lights work. Just went ahead and put
on a new set. Being a boater I know that trailer lights, no matter how
expensive or cheap are only good for a year or two. Then I had to
replace that broken fender I welded during the week. Also backed up
the weld this time with a little clear fiberglass cloth and resin, it
is not going anywhere. Up at 6 and off to load up and go. Sleepy.

Took my time driving up, saw a lot of yahoos in pickumup trucks flying
by me on 84 with bikes in the back, but I stayed at 55, a lesson I
learned last season with the boat. Lucky I did. I pulled into the
NETRA site and was told I had a trailer tire down and it indeed was.
One of the trail bosses found a pump in one of the trailers there,
said he knew the guy and pumped it up as I was unloading the bike and
warming it up. I actually think I forgot to thank him as things got
stupid from here.

Last weekend at the races we were told that she could race this week
but being busy I did not comb through the rules and turned out my
daughter was too old to ride, she was crushed so we loaded up to go
home.

So now it's a mad dash for the stables for a riding lesson, maybe this
day can be saved after all. She made her lesson and the instructor was
pleased to relate the horses to the bike so all went well. Anyway,
today we might get down to an outdoor track at Rocky Hill and see if
there is anyone down there for us to follow and learn from. Being a
boat builder I know that the best way to learn to drive, is to race
and watch the folks who are faster than you, just like sailboats.
Well, I did not take any pics, she would have killed me if I brought
out the camera so it stayed in the truck.

Maybe next week....

Scotty and the mouse.

Re: Cant post report

Well, that is the first time I heard of Google censoring posts based
on content. Especially for such mild content. The paragraph I removed
had the words "c and rap" as well as 'bull sh and the i and t"
together.

Anyway, here was the "offending" paragraph, cleaned up a little. Very
little, but apparently enough to make the grade..

<SNIP>
Bike snobs;) So before we found out we could not enter there was the
typical little butch fat kid standing there with his friend talking
about my kids "piece of c*** pocket bike" loud enough for us to hear
it, and as we were loading up his uncle (not really but another guy),
you know the type. More proud of the money he spent than his kids,
goes to the gym regularly to see if he can make his shoulders wider
than his gut;) Comes over and starts telling me that we can't ride
this bike in NETRA anyway. After a few questions from me like "what
component makes it illegal" and "it is set up exactly like his kids
bikes just a little taller with a little longer shock travel" he
finally admitted that it was only because it was not one of the top
five manufacturers.. Bul***** they just don't want to see a chinese
bike whip the factory rides.. He continues on to say I probably waited
too long to start my kid racin', "my kids have been racing for 4
years" he adds, practically patting his wallet... b * d... Anyway,
after that guys leaves feeling oh so proud, the origional guy (one of
the club members) who helped me with the tire comes back and I ask him
the same questions. He looks the bike over and says "no reason this
bike can't race NETRA, it's set up exactly like the competition". Then
he adds "put a bunch of honda stickers on it and tell them you
modified it" with a grin and we are off.
<\SNIP>

again, I was not aware that google censored such slights, it that just
this group?

Anyway, vacation is almost over, gonna' go annoy some fish and check
out the local swimming hole.. Scotty that's all for now I think...

I think the guy who said you can't race a Chinese bike in NETRA is probably
full of crap and bullshit.

it.. Now you post this??? I am very confused....

Re: Cant post report

2 pieces of advice:

1) find a dedicated newsreader, like Agent 3.3 (unfortunately they
stopped providing a free version) or even Outlook which allows you to
"subscribe" to a usenet newsgroup and stop using google groups.

You'll find usenet, and rmd, ever so much more enjoyable and useful.
It will keep track of what you've read, show the posts in a nice tree
that's organized and easy to follow who's commenting on what.

Google groups is a bastardized subset of usenet that is becoming worse
and not better. And google is becoming the microslop of the new
millenium. "We don't HAVE to care because we're google."

2) Racing, especially youth racing, is LOUSY with those types--the
butch fat kid, and the butch fat non-riding dad. Ignore them if
possible, and keep racing as long as it's fun. If it stops being fun,
find other riding outlets that don't appeal to rich fat non-riders.

Pretty much anything that involves riding away from the parking lot
works.

Ch Charles,

I was going to suggest that Mike W. publish some of his "rebuffs" so we
could get these folks put in their place permanently.

Busybodoeis getting into other peoples shit. Give me a fucking break...

Yeah, maybe it's time for a reader. I have been fighting it for a long
time. Being in the industry I always hate to use "free" platforms or
provide them to my clients for as soon as it gets a toe hold, they
start to charge for it and usually in the case of my customers, I am
stuck with a few users of a very expensive and burdensom software
package. I sometimes think that those chinese sneaker sellers can not
be serious, more likely reader authors trying to destroy g**gle and
once we are all using readers, charge the heck out of us. But then
again I remember the first time I heard about Win**ws 3.0, I told my
wife that we would never need to upgrade from dos;)

Yeah, I kind of get that, but my kid was a little upset over the snide
attitude. We will keep riding, and we looked at a *blue and white* 100
cc on the way home. It was a 2000 for about a grand. Looked and
sounded nice, but I really don't know from two strokes. Either way, I
don't think she will get discouraged, she loves competition, any kind,
any time.

I am learning though and it is not like I had not been warned about
how the races were. Last week we missed them and only participated in
the Nervous Novice, where she made some nice friends;) We did get a
little taste last week however seeing some guy yell at his 10 year old
for going off the track and stalling the bike, being a noob, I stayed
out of it, but I suspected what might be to come. I hope I never am
that parent.. In fact I know I am not, my kids coach actually gave me
and mrs JW a special award last year for sportsmanship and supporting
kids on both teams. First time in 30 years of coaching he gave the
highly coveted "orange golf tee" to a parent.

Keep racin, see you in the woods. I will be the one running
interference for my kid from the DEP guys;)

The only reason I know how bad google sucks is because I use it from
work in "lurk only" mode. I had the free version of Agent for awhile,
but I found myself wasting company resources, as it were, so this
limits my participation to non-work hours.

I'm pretty sure you can use Outlook or Outlook Express as supplied
with windows ("free") to subscribe to usenet. This means that you need
to have access to usenet newsgroups supplied by your ISP. Some do,
some don't. My current one doesn't, so I pay approx. $16/year to a
have access to a German USP (Usenet Service Provider) and I use a
frekinawsome free newsreader that alas only runs on OSX. It has a spam
news filter so I NEVER see all that chinesejordanshoecrap, and it will
let let me post cusswords all day long, if that's how I'm inclined :)

I skip 4 latte's a year, and pay for the USP, at least that's how I
rationalize it.

Yep, there's good and bad everywhere. I have met some of the greatest
people at off-road races, and some of the downright worst. Fortunately
you can leave them behind at the end of the day. My biggest problem is
that I live next door to a certifiable lunatic...and I don't really
want to move.

hyper text is crap bullshit.
Like the old kodger still using a black and white T.V.
I would like to have an eight track player in my car just so the kids would
believe it.
I am like the guy hold up Guam after 28 years refusing to believe the war
was over.
Still holding on to ms-dos memories...lurking around in the directories
ignoring all pleas from fellow users that ms-dos is gone.
I can just see the headlines now...
"Usenet recovers from the Chinese bike, gold replica watch, Tennis shoe
virus".

40tude Dialog ( http :// www .40tude,com /dialog) has pretty much the same
features as my (a bit aged) Agent, plus complex filtering/scoring ontop
and is free. My newsserver is news.individual, net (your ISP might have
news capability for free), which costs a lame 10EUR/year and features a
quite comprehensive news archive.
