Not to be pushy of anything, but, is there
going to be a ride report or something?
Thanks for the teaser pictures though. I sure wish I could
have attended this trip. Hope ya'all had a great time.

You're at least typing, so I'm assuming you didn't hurt yourself
riding that natural bridge...

Any read on how long it'll be legal to ride there?

I landed on that spot you can see below the arch.

As long as any place else.

RR will be a while. I just got back last nite. 500+ miles of dirt in 6
days of riding.

Gulp! There has to more to this story than my imagination is
is willing to speculate.
I'll be waiting for this one to come out in print.
I am sure it will be a good one.

No, pretty boring actually.

Here's a jeep coming up the step I biffed on:

BTW, the edge behind the jeep is really the edge. in all fairness, you
would probably land in the powerlines before you hit the highway below.

I had just passed some jeeps & didn't have enough speed for the ledge. I
biffed & tweaked my hamstring. My riding partner had a mishap 200 feet
further, removing a large chunk of his engine side case. This is officially
my shortest ever ride. ~200 yards.

You fell *there*???

Holy-mackeral-andy

I remember first time I came up that thinking this had
better be easy at the top cause it's getting scary. 10 feet to your
left
or 10 feet ahead and it's very Not Good. Making that right is
sorta important.

Dang.

Wish I'd been there. Finger better-ish. Lots of back yard stuff
seems to be helping but haven't tried an all day ride again yet.
I'd do it this weekend but Amy the Wonder Wife's big 5-0 is
this weekend.

Wow Mike, don't let my friend's wife get wind of this. She continues to
proclaim her intent to be "High Maintenance". As a hypothetical analogy, I
would imagine a Lamborghini to be high maintenance. OTOH, so is a '86 Dodge
Caravan with 250k miles. I wonder which model she is?

At the very least. I should also think there's a new bike in there
somewhere. Hasn't your XR seen enough abuse?

While I'm still a cheap bastard, I actually did buy a
new bike. Pick it up Tuesday.

No such thing - it's an XR. Besides I've been riding the
WR250 a bunch. If I were buying, it'd be a new 2 stroke
250 probably. As long as the WR and XR are serviceable,
I'm not buying.

Any particular reason why? Just curious.

You missed the "cheap bastard" part. Plus, I'm
old and slow enough that newer doesn't necessarily
equate to better anymore. I may at some point tire of
working on old shit but not so far.

Besides, I'm a cheap bastard.
