You sure that wasn't 1999? Time flies huh? We had epic conditions
for that National. I still didn't have an enduro computer or odo for
that matter and was sticking with Merfman. He blew a reset and we
entered the 1st check on the second loop 7 minutes early. Oops! Merf
was pissed, but I was enjoying the kick-ass ride. Later on is when my
shock linkage broke and the insuing carnage broke the shock shaft in
two. You guys had to take off before I was ridden in with the
sweepers. I nearly froze to death before they arrived. Anyway, I had
to go back out the next day with some of the Salinas Ramblers to get
my bike with a 4x4.
