Another riding area bites the dust

Re: Another riding area bites the dust

Shouldn't you guys and gals be a bit pissed at all the alphabet soup
organizations? What happened to "tread lightly"? Shouldn't all the work
that's been done like cleaning trails and bigger mufflers have been for some
reason?

It's all a scam. The political system is broken. You have to get the money
to the politicians, not the AMA and it has to be more than the other side.

You sure that wasn't 1999? Time flies huh? We had epic conditions
for that National. I still didn't have an enduro computer or odo for
that matter and was sticking with Merfman. He blew a reset and we
entered the 1st check on the second loop 7 minutes early. Oops! Merf
was pissed, but I was enjoying the kick-ass ride. Later on is when my
shock linkage broke and the insuing carnage broke the shock shaft in
two. You guys had to take off before I was ridden in with the
sweepers. I nearly froze to death before they arrived. Anyway, I had
to go back out the next day with some of the Salinas Ramblers to get
my bike with a 4x4.

Hollister or some place nearby? I heard that 30 years ago.

I'm betting that with the green sticker funded infrastructure
improvement's, it will be deemed 'non-orv' safe, i.e. walkers, hikers,
and maybe even horseback.

I fractured my pelvis and couple ribs there a few years ago, but had a
bitching time before that, with Team Grey from D36. Was looking
forward to going back in the future.

Yea Mike, I knew that no good would come of the O.H.V. registration
scam when it started in the 70's.
The best thing that could happen to the "Green Sticky" money is for
Gov. Terminator to raid the account and take all the money.

Likewise. When I saw the cute little fences and one-way signs and
picnic tables in Hungry Valley I knew it was getting worse. Then they
erected the tollbooths. I haven't gone out on the real trails for a
long time, but there was no actual trail maintenance for a LONG time
after the green-sticker program began. Maybe things are different now.
Maybe we can ski in hell.

No, then they'd shut down the area. Remember when they shut down the
Grand Canyon?

Is it conceivable that the bulk of the money devoted to public-land
operations is spent on trash cleanup? If people weren't slobs we'd all
be a lot better off.
