Atlantis - The $20 Upgrade Trick ?

Has anyone tried to get a free upgrade at Atlantis on Paradise island by
using the $20 trick at check-in? This procedure works perfectly in Las
Vegas to get upgraded to large rooms and suites, however, I will be staying
at Atlantis and want to know if anyone has successfully used it there.
Thanks in advance for any serious information.

Re: Atlantis - The $20 Upgrade Trick ?

The $20 trick has been used in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and many other
places for years. When you check in at the hotel, you fold a $20 bill and
hand it to the clerk along with your ID. At the same time just ask "If
there are any complimentary upgrades available". Almost every time you will
get a suite or a much nicer room with additional comps. I want to know if
anyone tried this at Atlantis.

You can get those things using Priceline if you bid wisely. Why resort
to passing a moribita when you can bid for what you want online? Try it
or one of the online hotel consolidators. If you are going to pass a
moribita at Atlantis, make it 40. euros. Outside the US, the dollar
isn't what it used to be.

Re: Atlantis - The $20 Upgrade Trick ?

The $20 still works wonders at U.S hotels. I get comps galore with a smile
and a $20 gratuity to the check-in clerk. By the way, you can't get rooms
at Atlantis on Priceline.
