simple wiring of accesories on an 02 FLSTF - Ness oil pressure guage

While I'm a capable mechanic and not afraid to do most jobs on my 02FLSTFI,
somehow anything having to do with wiring always seems to go wrong. So I'm
going to ask this panel of knowledeable owners here just what I need to do.

I want to add 2 simple accessories. 1 is a cigarette lighter. Obviously they
don't come from the factory with a power outlet. I've found that on longer
rides it's helpful to have a place to plug in a variety of electrical
gizmos: The Cell Phone that I forgot to charge, GPS unit that maked life
much easier when riding in unfamiliar territory, small spot light, etc.
The Other item is a set of colored LED's that reflect off the chrome on the
motor, tranny, oil tank. They's a series of strips that adhere to the bottom
of the tank and frame rail under the seat. They wire up in a series with
soldered connections.

The question is WHERE IS THE BEST SPOT AND HOT WIRE TO CONNECT TO if I want
them to switch on and off with the ignition (no independant switch). I
believe it is the orange wire coming out of the harness under the seat but
I'm not positive.

Other Question

I installed a Ness Oil Pressure Guage a few years ago. somehow the glass got
broken and I had to pitch it since it was dripping glycerin. I bought a new
unit. The problem is that it mounts on the right side under the 2 rear
rocker box bolts. In that location it digs into my right thigh and becomes
painful after an hour or so. If I ever have shorts on (seldom) It gets
awfully hot and burns my leg. All the instructions direct that it be placed
to the rear of the rocker box but the 2 front bolts seem to be the correct
distance apart to accomodate the holes in the bracket. It seems as though it
might work better there. Before I install the new one which requires lifting
the tank, I'd be very interested to know if anyone else has done this
successfully. It would save me some trouble and burned legs this summer.
Many thanks in advance.

A classic, but a might short O the little red ring that when hooked
drops the red ball and turns on the popcorn maker.
