Battery from Walmart, recycling fee?

Unless I miss understood walmart now wants to charge a $9.00 fee to take our
old batteries. They called it a recycling fee.

Anyone else see this?

I believe that is a $9.00 core charge to be sure you return your old
battery to them.

I just did that on a Sportster battery, Core was $5.00
Ask yourself if it's worth transporting a messy, stinking battery to WAL*MART
for $5.00....

Ride up to the service department and change it out there. That's what I did
when I got a new one from the dealer. I called the dealer and asked them if
they needed the old battery back and they said no. I wonder what Wally world
has going on?

Don't know but the local scrap yard is paying $9.00 a piece for old batteries
now. This time last year they were paying a quarter for them.
