Candidate's views on motorcycle issues
Candidate's views on motorcycle issues
All three presidential candidates voted in 2005 against the Lautenberg
amendment which would have withheld federal funding to those states that
haven't passed mandatory helmet laws.
Does anyone know a good resource to find out their views concerning
motorcycle issues?
Google has been spectacularly unhelpful at this for one reason or another
(Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama's wife Michelle both being involved in
accidents with motocycles recently).
Browsing their websites haven't really been useful, either. The sites for
Clinton and Obama don't have a search feature, and the search on McCain's
site doesn't yield results.

Dunno, but I strongly suspect they've got, shall we say, larger issues
on their minds than our narrow interests.
Not like there's going to be a Presidential Proclamation of Helmetless
Sequestration and send all the non-helmet wearing folks to Gitmo.

I conceed that. Most federal mandates have probably been created by staffers
anyway.
Damned nameless bureaucrats banging out policies left and right.

Although a candidates position on helmet laws, or gun laws, etc gives
an indication of where they stand on personal liberty in general - and
that, to me, is an important consideration when I vote.
