Re: fairing remove

Easy to do. On a EGC there's 7 screws, a T27 torx. Three on the windshield, two behind the hand grips and two between the forks on the inside. Just remember to disconnect the
headlight before you pull the fairing out too far.

Not enough info -- Electra Glide or Road Glide or what?

SQ
ps. You might need T27 and T25 TORX

Get a little flashlight to help you see the ones in the back near
the forks. It's kind of dark back there.

If I remember correctly, you need the weird size torx for those
screws. (T27?) It's one of the sizes on the driver that comes with
the bike. Replacing the speakers is wicked easy. While you are in
there, consider replacing the windshield with one of appropriate
height and add a set of those little windshield bags. They are most
useful.

Wow, the new gentler rmh. No requests for a drink no pointers to the FAQ
nobody telling him to buy the manual. Am I in the right place?

Indeed sir, I was thinking of mentioning the useful nature of a
manual, for this and future work on the bike. But I see you have
blocked my wicket. Have you any grey poupon?

<running to the back> Damnit Snag! It was just one of those big ol' dog
turd cee'gars that the old fucks tend to smoke when they're drinking.
Thanks allot. I think I re-injured my back when I jumped up. Now I'll just
have to sit by the window and sip outta this mason jar, and take another of
those hydromorphones the doctor gave me last week.

Ok, thanks for the info. As long as we're at it is there a pair of
decent aftermarket speakers that don't cost like 80 bucks? I figured
I would pull the fairing off and measure the speaker bolt pattern and
go search for some reasonably priced speakers and an amplifier. No,
not doing the Harley radio either. I bought a radio that is twice as
nice as the HD radio for 600 bucks.

I've been running a $29 pair of Walmart speakers in my fairing for about
4 years now. They were fine until last fall. I think I need to visit
Walmart again. 8-)

Heh, a big "Me too" here. Except the part about having to go back to
Walmart right now. The speakers are about the only thing on the bike
I ain't gonna mess with this year.

I bought Hogtunes speakers. Work great. Don't recall the price.
