Denim Paint
Denim Paint
I just bought a 08 Street Bob with "Denim" paint, does anybody have
any good cleaning ideas for it? I know the manual says to buy a HD
product but I'm sure there's got to be other stuff you can use.
Yesterday may helmet just barely touched the gas tank and now there is
a very small black scuff mark, I got some of it out with water and a
soft cloth but you can still see it. Any ideas?

The wife put's my demins in the washing machine, then a bit later they come
out clean as if by magic. After a while they tend to fade, but I think
that's because I sometimes park myself in the sun.

It's defective paint that came out dull instead of shiny, but instead of
repainting all the tin, the MoCo called it "Denim Paint" and charged
more for it.

80 grit sandpaper ought to do it just fine.

"If scratched, nicked or scuffed, Black Denim paint can not be buffed out.
If polished, the finish will become less matte and more glossy over time.
This finish can not be repaired."

Yep. Maybe a good reason to choose black if wanting that finish. As
it accumulates imperfections over time, they seem less out of place
since it has an anti-pretty, brooding look to begin with.
I've ridden my flat-black Street Bob for about a year now and I love
it. If you like the colour black for your bike, with a denim finish
it's even blacker. Black and shiny sort of work against each other.
