WSB Ducatis

Here's a thing. When Airwaves were talking about going to WSB, Ducati
were talking about running a similar setup to MotoGP with the factory
team and a satellite team closely tied to the factory so they would have
4 bikes working on set up on the new bike.

So Airwaves pulled out and we have Biaggi/Xaus on the Sterilgarda team.
Then Biaggi does an extra 3 days at Qatar and says he's working closely
with Ernesto Marinelli (head of the WSB technical team) on setup. And
Biaggi/Xaus end up 0.5s quicker than Bayliss the previous week.

The fly in this ointment is the rules. Flammini say they're going to
take the average of the top two on 2s and top two on 4s to decide if the
weight and air restrictors needs changing. So Ducati really need to play
a game where they have one bike out front (Bayliss) and the other three
relatively nowhere. It may be bad for them if Xaus, Biaggi and Bayliss
are all getting podiums.

Heh, it seems like you're very focused on how Ducati can worm around
the spirit of the new twin rules in SB - cheater homo specials with
kit pistons in BSB, and nose-diving support riders in WSB to allow
Bayliss to have a lighter bike. So it's bad for Ducati if Bayliss is
right in the fight and Xaus and Biaggi are getting podiums? Sounds
pretty good to me, but I suppose if one is used to the notion of
Ducati rules favoritism and resulting SB dominance...
