Cylinder Boring Question

When boring cylinders is it best to use a Torque Plate on ALL cylinders
from all makes of bikes?

I'm going to bore the cylinders on my Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 1500

Thanks

That's what you do when they become egg shaped and won't seat new rings.

Yes, I'm aware of that.

<rolls eyes>

I'm just startled that anyone could manage to wear out the bores of a
Vulcan 1500, unless he's put something like 120k miles on it. I was
surmising that he's another of these people who rock up here with grand
ideas of stripping down[1] perfectly good bikes that don't need fiddling
with.

[1] And then buggering up.

He probably runs it wide open in low gear all the time.

Re: Cylinder Boring Question

Maybe he's just clueless and someone told him it would make more power.
Maybe he listened to "Bob the backyard mechanic" who told him there's no
difference between motorcycle grade oils and the good recycled stuff at
Wal-Mart that keeps millions of American cars and trucks on the road every
year.

Where are the answers to the questions? Why in god's name are we cutting
cylinders in a VN1500??

Just curious,
