I like them both, the IR really seems to bring out the clouds. I think the
bottom photo looks better if you crop the bottom to remove the walkway, just
my opinion.

Given the title, I think the wrong path adds something to the image. We're
just getting full green here and I need to get out more. Thanks for
looking. - Jim

Great IR shots Jim. "Definance" is an unusual title. I would have used
"Strength" or "Solid Time Keeper". Just My opinion.

I lile the second title. It gives a good feel. The clearing in the
clouds above the school, in IR, really gives an onnimus feeling to the
scene. But with no path leading to it, negates the feeling.

Nicely done Jim.

I was mostly unhappy with the perspective at 20mm and really felt that I
needed to shoot with a longer lens from a greater distance, but UNC is
really intent on putting up all those buildings in the way. Thus the title
"Defiance"

It was indeed ominous; we got to walk back in the thunderstorm...

Thanks for commenting - Jim

Many IR shots have a surreal "white" to them. This is brilliantly the
opposite.

I like "Defiance" for its tone and contrast.

A little more framing care? (Is it a hair diagonal?).

Cheers,
Alan.

Defiance is actually a crop, just enough to rotate it 1.5 degrees to make
the center line of the tower vertical and maintain a 2x3 aspect ratio. And
yes, I think it still does look crooked, but the center lines up with the
vertical?! :-(

In IR if it's green (chlorophyll) it turns to diffuse white, everything
after that is exposure. Typically I'll take 0, +2, +4 from the meter
reading, then pick the best exposure and adjust it in post.

Thanks for looking, - Jim
