Sigma loves Nikon

Suprise, suprise, suprise as Gomer Pyle would say.
I borrowed a Sigma 70 - 200 F/2.8 Ex DG MkII lens from the distributor
on Friday just to see if it would be as good with Nikon as that are on a
Canon. http :// www .douglasjames,com .au/previews/suprise.htm
In macro mode of course. Exemplary is the word. I decided to keep it!
The soft landing, mirror on the 3D reduces camera shake and allowed me
to take this shot at 1/60th, hand held. Anyone who has tried to hold one
of these heavyweight lenses with a heavy camera and flash on top will
know how hard it is to hold the thing steady. The slightest slap from
the mirror is enough to blur a picture.
I notice too, that Canon have seen the light. Abandoning the spring
loaded mirror release they used on 20 and 30Ds for at least a partial
motor driven one in the 40D. Too little too late for this duckie.

Nice shot Doug. Cropped to suit an 8x10 print (a bit off
each sides to get rid of some of the white) and it is a very
nice shot indeed - well done :)
