Beautiful creamy bokeh and lovely colors. I've got all kinds of birds
squawking in the yard as well......starting at 4:00a.m. every
morning!
Excellent shot Bret!

Very well done. A good capture of a fast moving starling. I like the
way the breast feathers stand out. The catch light in the eye really
brings life to the subject.
The background is very smooth and not distracting to the subject. The
colors are very good and show the variation of the bird. From black to
green and purple on the neck to the red of the feet,

Only thing I can squawk about is the DOF on the bird. Even at f/5.6
the beak seems to be a bit soft while the breast feathers and feet are
sharp. Maybe a tweek more stop down would have brought it in to focus
and still have the background out of focus.

In all and all I give the image a 9.9 on the scale of 10.

Keep up the good work Bret.

Ok, ok. I goofed. But it did look a little soft.

Still a great shot. You seem to have some of the best timing in
capturing nature
photography. Hope one day I can compete with you on that scale.

Keep shooting,

Draco
