Wollensak Raptar LE-2(2) Lens

Just got one of these, what with the LE-2(2) designation? It is a 4.5,
10inch (254mm) lens, it has coated optics. The box it came in states
it was manufactured in 04/56 and that it was made for the US
Army(signal corps). I have seen a type of wollensak lenses, but I am
lost on this one.

You might search for old military technical manuals on
photography, the designation may show up there. The military
had a great many lenses of all sorts made by contract. I
don't have specific information about this one.

I think I have the Civilian version of this lens. Mine says
Wollensak 10" (254mm) f/4.5 Raptar Telephoto.

Alphax shutter
overall length 107mm
front cell o.d. 70.5mm
rear cell o.d. 42.5mm

Does this sound close to what you have?
