Canon - PowerShot G7

The PowerShot G series cameras have earned a soft spot in the heart of
semi-pro photographers ever since the G1 came out in 2000...

Cough, cough, splutter, I nearly choked on my coffee.

Well, if we are going to post 35mm stuff to a large-format group,
I read someplace a decade or so ago, that the Olympus XA (that I have)
was more appreciated once it was discontinued than when it was in
production.

I think I understand why it was designed the way it was. I like it
but it has two serious shortcomings. The yellow on white rangefinder
is impossible to use in dim or bright light, though it works in
between.

And I hate the 35mm focal length: too short to be "normal" and too
long to be "wide angle." But it does fit in a shirt pocket which is
good on those mountain climbs where my 4x5 is out of the question.

That one is over my head, here at comp.dsp. (If you explain, use my home
email address. I removed comp.dsp from the address list.)
