Mamiya 7II 5-cent piece broke of...
Mamiya 7II 5-cent piece broke of...

Just got my Mamiya 7II back from Mamiya America Corp.'s repair service.
The little plastic fold-out knob that winds the blackout curtain split
and fell off. They put on a new one.
A five cent piece of plastic ... and $65.00 to replace it and $15.00 to
ship it UPS ground back to me (I live about 14 miles from their offices).
Ah, space-age polymers.
But since I adore the camera (especially with the 43mm lens) I can cut
them some slack. After all, it couldda been one of my Leicas & I'd
rather not think about their repair prices.

MAC's parts department is quite good. Try them first next time, if you know
what part is broken.
