lab for scanning slides

I'm looking for a reliable lab for scanning slides onto CD or DVD. I
have several carousel trays of my grandfather's from the 1960's I want
to digitize.

I have scanned my own slides in the past, but I do not have a scanner
set up on my current Vista system. Since my own photography is
strictly digital these days, I'm not inclined to buy one.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike Christie

Duggal is my primary lab -- they are local for me in NYC. They will do
either flatbed or drum scans of slides. Their primary clientele is
professional photographers, so unlike large retail outlets like Ritz
they color-correct all their scans and let you specify the output
resolution. * w w w .duggal . com /02digital.htm#scanning

They are also very good at long-distance work as long as you specify
exactly what you want. You would probably need to call them for a quote
given the number of slides and what output size you are looking for.

Full disclosure: I don't shoot digital; I use Duggal for all my black &
white and color slide/trans processing. I also haven't owned a slide
scanner for years now so I have no idea what the economics are of an
eBay slide scanner vs. paying for good scans.

YMMV

I used D & D Imaging a couple of years ago to do some scanning for me of
some odd 126 sized slides and they did a great job. Their quality was
great and prices very reasonable. Their website is:
